Pinion now supplies gearboxes and complete gearbox accessories, including mounting brackets, cranks, cranks etc. for chain wheels and Gates timing belt drives. Conventional bottom brackets are unsuitable for pinion gearboxes which caused us to design both a modified bottom bracket bearing and a new frame geometry, and because we had a new rear suspension with new dropouts. In the future, the frame does not have to be opened when replacing the toothed belt, chains can remain closed.
The pinion’s two types of gearboxes, which we will start in autumn, are the P1.18 (18-speed) for bicycles and the P1.9 XR (9-speed) for bicycles and e-bikes.
